Kirinyama Plum Wine|Seasonal Sake: Brewery New Sake Information
The seasonal sake Kirinzan Umeshu is now in stock.
Plum wine brewed from sake has a low alcohol content, a pleasant aroma, a mellow taste, and a soft rice aroma. Kirinsan Plum Wine was born out of a desire to pickle nearby specialty plums in pure sake made from 100% rice grown in Okunaga. In the brewing of 2036, the juicy 'Togoro' from Kameda, Niigata Prefecture and the 'Shirakaga' from Gunma Prefecture, which is famous for its plum fruity aroma, were blended.
Plum wine based on sake has a richer aroma and a gentler taste than plum wine generally brewed with white wine.
First-timers can try it chilled, straight or on the rocks. It is also popular as a carbonated drink or paired with the classic pure rice sake Kirinzan Yawaraka.
Product Updates
Since 2025, Kirinyama Plum Wine has been updated. While retaining the Yifenmei label, the design was redesigned to make it clearer that two types of plum fruit were used. It is also fire-aged (heat treated).
